Meaning of KV value of brushless DC motor
What is the KV value?
The KV value of brushless DC motor varies from high to low, ranging from 1000-2000 to 5000-6000, which indicates the value that the speed increases with each voltage increase of 1 volt. For brushless DC motor, this value is a constant.
However, for DC brushless motors of the same size, the winding turns are large, the KV value is low, the high output current is small, but the torque is large, the winding turns are small, the KV value is high, the high output current is large, but the torque is small.
Of course, the quality of the motor cannot be judged by the magnitude of the KV value, because different KV values have different applications.

It is assumed that the low voltage environment of DC brushless motor is 12V, and the KV value is low. Because of the low rotating speed, it is suitable to match the smaller reduction ratio, and rely on the larger load to increase the current and output larger power. For those with high KV value, it is suitable for larger reduction ratio due to higher rotating speed. Under the condition of meeting the output power, the load should be reduced to avoid excessive current.
It is assumed that the high voltage environment of DC brushless motor is 220V, with low KV value. Under this voltage environment, it can achieve higher speed, good torque, and ideal. It is necessary to cooperate with a larger reduction ratio. Under the condition of meeting the output power, it is necessary to reduce the load and avoid excessive current. If the KV value is high, the rotating speed is too high in this environment. In order to avoid excessive current, the load should be reduced as much as possible, and its high rotating speed should be used.
